This tent is available in two versions:

  • 210T rainfly (3000MM waterproofing)
  • Mesh inner with 150D oxford cloth floor (3000MM waterproofing)
  • Green and orange colours
  • ~$20 USD less than 20D version

20D Sil-Nylon
  • 1.56kg total = 1.24kg (tent & poles) + 200g (stakes & guylines) + 120g (groundmat)
  • 20D Sil-Nylon rainfly (4000MM waterproof rating)
  • B3 Breathable Mesh / 20D inner with 20D floor (4000MM waterproofing)
  • Grey/red and green colour
  • Optional snow/sand skirt version (~$10 USD extra)

Parts / Accessories
  • 7001 aluminium alloy poles
  • Double zipper on inner door
  • Duraflex buckles with adjustment straps (rainfly connects to inner or groundsheet)
  • 3 reflective guylines with cord tensioners
  • 12 shock corded aluminum alloy 'V' stakes

Pros
  • Silicone taped seams
  • Storm flap over zipper
  • 'D' shaped door that won't fall into your tent
  • Fast pitch without inner (using only the rainfly and groundmat)
  • Reflective tabs on tieouts, reflective guylines
  • Interior pocket (in roof) and interior hanging hook

Cons
  • Narrow at one end
  • Rainfly not connected to the poles - side guylines do not connect to the pole structure
  • Not truly freestanding - back corners need staking for stability
  • 20D version: Sil-Nylon floors can be slippery
  • In strong winds, guylines required to secure the tent
  • People 6 foot+ may have to sleep diagonally to avoid touching walls
  • Only sleeps 2 very closely
  • Front vestibule needs to be staked out, hard to properly tension
  • No crosspole or mid-section tie outs (saggy walls)
  • No vents - depending on conditions, condensation could be an issue

Compared with the Big Agnes Fly Creek UL2, the Cloud Up 2:
  • Is ~300g heavier
  • Uses less fragile materials (15D on the UL2)
  • Does not have guylines attached to the tent body (UL2 does)
  • Uses 7 pole clips on the inner (6 on the UL2)
  • Includes a groundmat (none with UL2)
  • Has 14 "groundhog" clone stakes (vs 11 J stakes)
  • Has no attachment points for the BA gear loft accessory
  • Has an optional snow/sand skirt
